Young Wardens: Practical Conservation work – 25 November

Get involved in Practical Conservation Work with The Hawk & Owl Trust during a day out on Shapwick Moor with the Reserve Warden. You will be undertaking scrub clearance, using hand-tools, burning brash and planting trees; there will also be lunch around the campfire.

Young Wardens is a programme of activities designed for 12-17 year olds. It covers a range of practical skills useful for those interested in wildlife, conservation work and perhaps future study or employment in these areas – or just for enjoyment!

Each year there are sessions on aspects of practical land management, species surveying and identifying, understanding the heritage of our landscape and more. Individual sessions can be attended, or the programme booked as a whole to gain a certificate.

Registration and booking essential.
