A visit to the Wildfowl & Wetland Trust’s Steart Marshes. Discover this newly created wetland reserve designed to protect local communities from flooding. A range of practical activities will be undertaken over the course of the day to learn about the habitats and wildlife of the reserve.
Young Wardens is a programme of activities designed for 12-17 year olds. It covers a range of practical skills useful for those interested in wildlife, conservation work and perhaps future study or employment in these areas – or just for enjoyment!
Each year there are sessions on aspects of practical land management, species surveying and identifying, understanding the heritage of our landscape and more. Individual sessions can be attended, or the programme booked as a whole to gain a certificate.
