Young Wardens – Practical Conservation – 14th February

A day of practical conservation with Somerset Wildlife Trust on Westhay Moor NNR for 12-17 year-olds. Help clear scrub with hand-tools and burn brash to restore grassland and mire habitats on this fantastic wetland reserve.

Young Wardens is a programme of activities designed for 12-17 year olds covering a range of practical skills useful for those interested in wildlife, conservation work, improving their CV or completing Duke of Edinburgh volunteer hours.

Sessions over the year cover practical land management, species surveying and identifying and hands-on heritage work. Individual sessions can be attended, the programme booked as a whole to gain a certificate or necessary hours completed for DofE.
