Autumn Equinox Stories by the Fire
Join us at Avalon Archaeology for a heart-warming family event marking the turning of the year. As the autumn equinox draws near, we gather in the glow of the hearth to share stories, carve together, and honour the rhythms of the season.
Having celebrated Lughnasadh, the vibrant fire festival honouring the solar god Lugh and the arrival of autumn, we turn to the autumn equinox, known to some as Mabon. A time of reflection, gratitude, and second harvests, Mabon invites us to embrace balance as daylight wanes and longer nights begin.
Tales of the Sun
Watch captivating story-performances by storyteller extraordinaire Michael Loader. Throughout the day, Michael will weave spellbinding tales inspired by sun myths and legends from around the globe. These stories will take place in the new roundhouse every hour from 11.00 am until 3.00 pm. Each story will be different!
