Gather around the fire in the Saxon Longhall at Avalon Archaeology and hear the epic tale of Beowulf in this special adaptation for children.
Join master storyteller Lizzie Bryant and experimental archaeologist Marc Cox as they bring the story to life, guiding you into the world of the Anglo Saxons – a time of warriors, mead halls, monsters and myth.
This special event is a fantastic introduction to the story of Beowulf and the world in which it is set. The full tale will be told in exciting 20 minute episodes, with hands-on activities between each part.
Young adventurers will take part in three craft activities to create their own war gear, preparing them to stand shoulder to shoulder in Beowulf’s shield wall, win the favour of King Hrothgar, and earn an arm ring.
