Imbolc, celebrated on February 1st or 2nd, marks the midpoint between the Winter Solstice and the Spring Equinox. It’s a time to celebrate the return of light and the first signs of spring. Imbolc is also known as Saint Brigid’s Day.
Join us in the morning, as we ritually light the Imbolc Fire in the Saxon Longhall and learn about the origins of St Brigid. Drop in throughout the day for family-friendly crafts; weave a Brigid Cross made of rushes and reeds to take home and discover ancient ways of making fire. The day will end with stories in the Longhall and a closing ceremony to welcome back the light.
