Join local artist Judith Champion for an immersive and creative workshop exploring the unique medium of ink and reeds. In this hands-on session, you’ll learn how to use the very reeds that grow on the beautiful Somerset Levels to create expressive and atmospheric paintings.
Whether you’re a complete beginner or have some experience this workshop offers a perfect blend of drawing and painting techniques. Judith will guide you through the basics and help you achieve stunning effects with ink and water.

Materials
All necessary materials will be provided, including leaves from the Somerset Levels. However, if you have the following, feel free to bring them along:
- Watercolour paper
- Wash brush, water pot, spray bottle
- BLACK Quink or Parker ink

ACCESSIBILTY
The Avalon Marshes Centre is fully wheelchair accessible, accessible from the car park via flat paved paths and wooden boardwalks. The meeting rooms are accessed by a permanent wooden ramp. Meeting room 1 features double doors, while meeting room 2 has a single door.
