Pond Dipping Hire at RSPB Ham Wall on 28th July 2024

There’s a secret world hidden all around us, full of amazing creatures…come and explore our pond habitat and the different creatures which live there!

Hire the pond dipping equipment for one hour and see what you can find lurking in the water…will you find a Damselfly larvae, a Blood Worm or a Water Scorpion!

Each pond dipping station can have a maximum of 1 adult, or 1 child and 1 adult (aged 18 years and over) with an adult supervising a maximum of 2 children. Please ensure children are supervised at all times. Minimum age is 5 years. This is a self led activity.

The pond dipping platform is hardstanding, with a gravel path to reach it.

Car Parking is available in the large RSPB car park but please note that car parking charges apply to non-RSPB members (£3 all day). RSPB members please scan your membership card at the car park machine for free parking.

Additional Information

Can I bring my dog? 

No dogs, except registered assistance dogs please.

Can I bring my own pond dipping equipment?

Unfortunately not, please don’t pond dip in the pond or canals using your own equipment as this can spread disease or invasive species.

COST

Hire cost is £4 per kit for one hour.

Tickets can be purchased on the day at the Info Point between 10am and an hour before the session is due to finish. If all of the pond dipping stations are in use when you arrive you will be given a time to return if there is availability in a later time slot.
