Printmaker Jackie Curtis works from her Somerset studio but can often be found walking on the Levels, sketch book and camera in hand, looking for ideas to use in her printmaking.
An exhibition of her work ‘Reedbeds and Waterways’ is currently on display at Somerset Rural Life Museum in Glastonbury.
To compliment the exhibition Jackie is running a half day workshop in monoprinting.
Monoprints are one off prints – there is no carving, so they are easy and fun to produce. In this workshop you will have the chance to produce several hand pressed prints using a variety of materials including lace, leaves, leather and fabrics. Materials will be provided; you are also welcome to bring along anything you think might have an interesting texture to print (that you don’t mind getting covered in ink!) e.g. leaves, feathers or old wooden stamps.
For adults, all abilities welcome
