Basket Weaving
Spend a relaxing day learning the traditional craft of basket weaving using natural rush, surrounded by woodland and the warmth of an open fire. No previous experience is needed, making this a welcoming and enjoyable experience for complete beginners.

You’ll be guided through traditional rush-working techniques, learning how to shape, weave and construct your own beautiful handmade basket to take home. You’ll also have the opportunity to light the fire yourself before settling down to weave beside its warmth, creating a peaceful and traditional setting for the day.

As part of the experience, you’ll discover how to make your own natural cordage using traditional techniques and locally inspired natural materials. Learn how simple natural fibres can be transformed into strong, practical and beautifully crafted cordage.

Throughout the day, enjoy homemade cake, tea and coffee, with plenty of time to relax, chat and take in the woodland surroundings.

This is an opportunity to step away from the busy pace of everyday life, reconnect with nature, learn traditional skills and create something unique with your own hands. A relaxed, hands-on experience perfect for anyone who enjoys traditional crafts, natural materials and the simple pleasure of making something for themselves.
